Folksvagen Sharan/Sharan repair>> The two-litre engine (ADY)>> Head of the block of cylinders and valves>> Hydraulic pusher
Maloperation with hydraulic pushers can damage to the engine, therefore observe following recommendations:
- After removal hydraulic pushers should be established a contact surface downwards on a pure surface;
- Pushers always replace completely as they are not subject to adjustment or repair;
- Noise of valves at engine start-up is the normal phenomenon. However if it too loud it is necessary to check up pushers, for this purpose:
- Start the engine and allow to it to work, until the cooling fan will join;
- Increase frequency of rotation of the engine to 2500 mines-1 and allow to it to work during 2 mines;
- If valves still rustle, for definition of a faulty pusher muffle the engine, uncover heads of the block of cylinders and rotate a camshaft so that its cam for a checked pusher looked upwards;

Fig. 126. Check of a hydraulic pusher

- Press a pusher a piece of plastic or the ground wooden stick (fig. 126). If thus the backlash makes more than 0,10 mm before the valve will open it is necessary to replace a pusher.

The note
After installation of a new pusher the engine can be started not earlier than in 30 minutes During this time hydraulic regulating elements "calm down" and then allow valves to be closed and open well. Otherwise valves can knock on pistons.
