Service life of system of release of the fulfilled gases as a whole depends on conditions in which the car is maintained. At frequent trips on small distances there is a significant amount of a condensate and aggressive acids in the muffler that leads to corrosion of system of an exhaust from within. Trips at working temperature and favorable conditions of combustion of a working mix reduce the maintenance of substances by the big distances causing corrosion in the fulfilled gases. Besides, thus there is a combustion of the foreign matters which have got in an exhaust system thanks to a heat.
Corrosion of system of an exhaust is outside caused by hit on it waters and salts. It can be promoted by blows of stones. The free engine mount leads to fluctuations of the engine which are transferred to junctions of reception pipes and all remained exhaust system.
The system of release of the fulfilled gases should be checked at each opportunity in time to notice possible damages, to prevent or eliminate them. For this purpose make the following:
- Check up, whether carving connections on an inlet collector and in fastening places are weakened, and do not tighten them with excessive effort;

- Check up rubber rings 4 (fig. 102) suspension brackets on fragility, cracks and other damages and if necessary replace them;
- At the working engine stop up the end of an exhaust pipe with a rag. If the engine decays after a while, the system of release of the fulfilled gases is tight. If the hissing sound the system of release of the fulfilled gases is not tight is audible;
- If the system of release of the fulfilled gases sounds deafly shortly it is necessary to change the muffler.
Installation of the catalyst does not represent any difficulties, however thus observe following recommendations:
- Twirl connection of a final collector (item 2.10.2 see);
- Fix thermal protection of the engine by means of tightening washers;
- Replace the damaged rubber rings of a suspension bracket of system of release of the fulfilled gases;
- Always change a lining between a reception pipe and the catalyst;
- Before to tighten fastening collars properly connect pipes. Tighten nuts with the demanded moment of an inhaling;
- At вкручивании a ljambda-probe if it has been unscrewed, put on its carving lubricant «G5». Track that lubricant has not got in шлиц ljambda-probe cases as in this case the probe can incorrectly work;
- At replacement of details of system of release of the fulfilled gases it is necessary to pay special attention on backlashes an and b (fig. 102 see). The distance and between apertures for a suspension bracket should be a minimum of 5 mm. It concerns forward and back mufflers. The distance b should make a minimum of 50 mm, i.e. the fixing clip should be shifted on a junction of pipes before it will be tightened;
- Always use new nuts, 40 Н·м.
