Folksvagen Sharan/Sharan repair>> Engine VR6>> System of release of the fulfilled gases>> Removal and installation of a final collector
The final collector 2 (fig. 100) consists of two parts and there are two separate linings 7. The union is twisted In a collector 10 for system connection рециркуляции the fulfilled gases (EGR).
The final collector can be removed after the screen of thermal protection 5 will be removed and both reception pipes 8 are disconnected.
Installation of a final collector is spent in an order, the return to removal, thus observe following recommendations:
- Always change a lining between the engine and a final collector. At installation of a new lining watch that it has been established in correct position;
- Always replace self-stopped nuts of 4 fastenings of a final collector to the engine. They should be tightened the moment 40 Н·м;
- Replace linings 7 between reception pipes and half of final collector. The nuts connecting a final collector and reception pipes, are self-stopped and consequently they should be changed always. Tighten nuts the moment 40 Н·м.
The catalyst 4 (fig. 101) is established after a reception pipe. It looks as "the bulked up" muffler and consists of a considerable quantity of metal or ceramic honeycombs which are covered by platinum or similar metals. Through these honeycombs pass fulfilled gases. Platinum accelerates chemical reaction at which a harmful gaseous waste turns to harmless gases. The ljambda-probe established in front of the catalyst 11 constantly measures quantity of harmful gas WITH, containing in the fulfilled gases, and transfers ЭБУ the information, in the form of electric signals on which basis demanded updating is carried out, that is there is a change of structure of a gas mixture.
