Identification number (VIN) the car chassis, beaten out on a body, under EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY standards 17-unit and except serial number of the car displays code number of model, year of release and a place of its manufacture, the international designation of firm-manufacturer.

At 2,8-litre engine VR6 serial number and a code designation of the engine (ААА) are beaten out on a forward part of the block of cylinders (fig. 1).

Besides the code designation (ААА) engine VR6 is resulted also on the factory tablet with a designation of model of the car, and on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders there is a label with instructions of serial number of the engine.

At the 2-litre engine the code designation of engine ADY and serial number are beaten out on a left-hand side of the block of cylinders (fig. 2).

The transmission too has code number. Its location on a transmission is specified by an arrow 1 (fig. 3), it designates transmission type. In a place specified by an arrow 2, it is informed, about what transmission there is a speech.

On one side transmissions its code number which is specified also on the factory tablet also is beaten out.

At the order of spare parts it is necessary to specify the exact name of model and chassis number, and also whenever possible number of the engine and year of release. It considerably will accelerate reception of the order and will allow to avoid errors in it. Only at instructions of mentioned numbers the supplier of spare parts can sell the spare parts corresponding to concrete model Sharan or Galaxy.
