Check up, whether exceeds deterioration of cylinders as much as possible admissible — 0,08 mm. For what measure internal diameter of the cylinder by the special measuring device — нутрометром in three belts — in the top, average and bottom parts of the cylinder (fig. 60) both in cross-section, and in longitudinal engine directions.
At measurement of the top and bottom belts of the cylinder it is necessary to recede on 10 mm from their edges. Thus, at measurement of internal diameter of the cylinder, it is necessary to spend six gaugings on each cylinder.
All received values should be written down and compared to the sizes resulted in the table of adjustments and the control. If the maximum size of deterioration at least is more than one of cylinders 0,08 mm — chisel all cylinders till next repair size.
For size definition расточки the cylinder measure diameter of the piston, to the received value add 0,03 more mm, at the expense of piston palpation at its course and, besides, add 0,02 mm for final хонингования the cylinder.

The piston has the difficult form of an external surface. Therefore diameter of the piston by a micrometer on distance of 6 mm from edge of a skirt of the piston and at right angle in relation to apertures for a piston finger (fig. 61) is measured.
The difference between the measured diameter of the piston and its rating value should not exceed 0,04 mm, otherwise it is necessary to establish the piston with the increased diameter — the repair size. For engine VR6 pistons of the repair sizes are produced about the increased on 0,5 and 1,0 mm in diameter.
For check of palpation of the piston at its course measure diameter of the piston and internal diameter of the cylinder. Calculate a difference between the received sizes for each cylinder. If the difference is more than 0,08 mm cylinders should be chiseled as palpation has reached deterioration borders.
