Measure a backlash on height between piston rings and flutes by means of measuring щупа (fig. 427). Nominal sizes are resulted in the table of admissions and the control.
By turns insert all piston rings, since bottom rather картера into a cylinder aperture. Having turned one of pistons an underside, press through rings approximately on 20 mm downwards. After that they will appear directly in a cylinder aperture.

Insert into a backlash between two ends of a ring measuring щуп to measure a backlash in the lock of a piston ring. On fig. 428 it is shown, properly correctly to make backlash gauging. At компрессионных piston rings the backlash should be equal 0,2—0,4 mm; at маслосъемных rings — 0,25 0,4 mm. The border of deterioration of all rings makes 1,0 mm.
At an insignificant backlash (for example, at new rings which also should be measured) the ends of rings can be ground off a file. For this purpose clamp a file in a vice and grind off about it the ends of rings. At too big thermal backlash the corresponding ring should be replaced.
Check up on deterioration and teases piston fingers and plugs of rods. Also if only one rod has damages it is necessary to replace all detail in gathering. Bolts of bearings of a rod always replace with the new. Check up rods by means of the device for correction of rods on deformation and twisting. The received sizes should be minimum. If you have doubts concerning a condition of rods address on HUNDRED to spend there corresponding measurements. If will drive one rod it is necessary to change all complete set.
