Removal and installation of the pump of water cooling of engine VR6 is a laborious work. For this purpose it is necessary to turn out bolts of fastening of support of an engine mount, to dismantle the engine and a transmission from their fastenings, to raise a power-plant as it is possible further from a motor compartment of the car.
Before the beginning of works on removal of the water pump pay attention to following recommendations:
- If in the car there is a radio tape recorder before to disconnect plugs AB be convinced that have at itself its protective code;
- Disconnect АБ not earlier, than through 20 with the ambassador of deenergizing of ignition. It guarantees that so-called «the hot wire» in air flowmeter has ceased to function;
АБ it is necessary to disconnect only at the switched off ignition to avoid damage ЭБУ of system of ignition and injection;
- At replacement of the water pump, probably, it is required to replace and cooling liquid, in a case if it already was in system long time.
Removal of the water pump of engine VR6 spend in a following order:

- Having turned out a drain stopper 23 (fig. 190) in the pipeline of 24 systems of the cooling, going along the engine, merge cooling liquid. Then at once screw a stopper of a drain aperture;
- Disconnect an exhaust pipe from the catalyst. Nuts can be thrown out at once as it is necessary to replace them with the new;
- Disconnect a fuel hose from a head of the block of cylinders;
- Remove wires ВН from spark plugs and remove directing wires ВН from outside coils of ignition and from outside a pipe. Turn away bolts of fastening of the central cover and remove it;
- Completely remove the case of the air filter;
- Remove air flowmeter;

The note
If plugs with АБ are not removed yet check up that ignition has been switched off a minimum 20 with back.

- Remove клиновый a belt;
- Remove a vacuum hose from a regulator of pressure of giving of fuel (the top part of an inlet collector);
- Disconnect the leader to the amplifier of a brake drive the vacuum hose located in the top part of an inlet collector;

- Disconnect штекерную колодку (fig. 191) the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid and turn out the gauge from the top part of an inlet collector;
- Fix the engine for corresponding loops and by means of the lift raise the engine a little so that to unload its suspension bracket;
- Remove the right forward support of an engine mount;
- Slowly lower the right part of the engine (drive) until then that the pulley of the water pump became accessible. Thus watch, that there were tense no places of connections, pipelines, wires, hoses etc.;
- Fix a pulley of the water pump in motionless position, turn away bolts of fastening and remove a pulley;
- Turn away bolts of fastening and remove the water pump. To take the pump, remove the engine a little to the left to release a few places, and take out the pump. The sealing ring thus still is on the pump and it is necessary to replace it with the new.

The note
Check up the pump after removal on presence of places of leak of oil (which are noted by a rust more often) and turn a nave to estimate a bearing condition.

Installation of the water pump spend to sequences, return to removal, carrying out following recommendations:
- Tighten bolts of fastening of the pump the moment 20 Н·м, and bolts of fastening of a pulley the moment 25 Н·м;
- Put on приводной a belt and adjust its tension (see подразд. 4.7).
