The radiator serves for tap of warmth from a cooling liquid as air stream.
The system of cooling of the engine is under pressure. A cover of a radiator with a lining tightly close a radiator, but thanks to specially picked up spring which has been built in a cover, in a case if pressure in cooling system rises to 140 180 кПа, the radiator cover opens. Pressure in cooling system raises because of expansion of a cooling liquid that leads to boiling rise in temperature.

Check of a cover of a radiator also is spent by means of delivery pump VW1274 ( fig. 186). Tighten pump VW1274 to a cover ( fig. 186 see ) and increase with its help pressure until the cover will not open. The pressure size at which there should be a cover opening, should be between 140 and 180 кПа. If size another it is necessary to replace a radiator cover.
