Prorolling of brakes is necessary for removal of air from a hydrodrive which considerably reduces efficiency of working brake system. Air can get to a hydrodrive owing to system depressurization at repair or replacement of separate knots, and also at replacement of a brake liquid. In air presence in a drive of brakes specifies the increased course of a pedal of a brake and its "softness".
For prorolling the new brake liquid is required. Firm "Volkswagen" recommends to apply a brake liquid of mark «FMVSS 116 DOT 4».
Before removal of air from brake system be convinced of tightness of all knots of a drive of brakes and their connections, clear a cover and a surface round a tank cover, carefully clear unions for prorolling. Prorolling of brake system is necessary after each repair of brake system if the hydraulic system of a drive of brakes opened.
Prorolling is recommended to be begun with that support which was exposed to replacement or repair. Observe the following sequence of pumped over brake mechanisms:
- Back right support of the brake mechanism;
- Back left support of the brake mechanism;
- Forward right support of the brake mechanism;
- Forward left support of the brake mechanism.

The prevention
During prorolling constantly watch level of a brake liquid in a tank and support it at level of a mark "Move".

The note
It is not recommended to apply a liquid merged from system, to tank filling as it is sated by air, has a lot of moisture and, probably, it is polluted.

Prorolling of brake mechanisms spend in a following order:
- Remove a dustproof cap, clear the union for prorolling and put on it a rubber hose for liquid plum, and its free end lower in the transparent vessel partially filled with a brake liquid;
- Ask the assistant to press sharply some times a brake pedal, before occurrence of its sharp counteraction;
- Turn on on 1/2 — 1/4 turns the union at the pressed pedal. Continuing to press a brake pedal, supersede a liquid being in system together with air through a hose in a vessel. The brake pedal "will leave" in a floor, keeping it in this position, wrap the prorolling union;

The note
Watch that the hose end has been constantly shipped in a liquid.

- Repeat these operations until the exit of vials of air from a hose will stop;
- Add in a tank a brake liquid, supporting level about a mark "Move";
- Keeping a brake pedal in the pressed position, wrap the union to the full and put on a protective cap;
- Repeat operations for other wheels;
- Check up rubber consolidation of a cover of a tank;
- After prorolling add in a tank a brake liquid to a mark "Move";
- Check up tightness of all connections of system;
- Make a trial trip, to which time be careful.
Replacement of a brake liquid
Replacement of a brake liquid spend each two years. On HUNDRED replacement of a brake liquid it is spent by means of the special device for filling and prorolling of brake system. The device cylinder is filled by compressed air under pressure approximately 400 кПа. For liquid and prorolling replacement working pressure of the device equal 100 кПа is established.
However replacement of a brake liquid can be made and it is independent. For this purpose it is required about 2 l of a fresh brake liquid of the specified mark.
That air has not got to hydrodrive system at replacement of a brake liquid and the minimum quantity of time for this operation was spent, adhere to following rules:
- Operate in the same order, as well as at prorolling of brakes, but use a hose with a glass tube on the end which lower in a vessel with a brake liquid;
- Pressing a brake pedal, extort an old brake liquid until in a tube the new liquid then execute two full speeds a pedal of a brake will not seem and, keeping it in the pressed position, wrap the union;
- Constantly watch level of a brake liquid in a tank and in due time add a liquid to level "Move";
- Repeat such operation on each brake cylinder in the same order, as well as at prorolling;
- After replacement of a brake liquid fill a tank to a maximum level and check up work of brakes on the move the car, being careful.
