The fuel pump fastens in the original way and for its removal special key VW 3217 is required. If it is, the pump can be removed together with an internal part of the soaking up case.

The note At electrogasoline pump removal the fuel tank should be filled no more, than on 2/3.

The prevention At removal of the fuel pump fuel can flow out a little. Fuel steams are poisonous and inflammable, therefore it is necessary to provide good airing of a workplace.

Removal of the fuel pump spend in a following order:

- Disconnect the plug «–» from АБ;

- Turn on for short time a stopper of a bulk mouth to dump pressure in system;

- Remove a rug on the right side under the second row of seats, turn away bolts of fastening and remove лючок an electrogasoline pump and the gauge of level of fuel;

- Disconnect from the pump four-contact штекерную колодку 11 (fig. 206) the gauge of level of fuel 30 fuel pumps 31;

- Disconnect submitting and returnable 9 pipelines from a flange 12;

- By means of special key VW 3217 remove a flange 12. If the special tool is not present, turn away a plastic nut on which there are small edges, by means of a screw-driver (it is better stupid) easily striking on it;

- Take from an aperture of a fuel tank a flange 12 and a sealing ring 14;

The note From the bottom party of a flange two are attached топливопровода: bringing 13 (it is designated by the letter «V») and returnable (рециркуляционный) 15 (is designated by the letter «R»).

- Turn to the left the fuel pump, deducing it from байонетного fastenings, and take out it.

Installation of the fuel pump spend to sequences of return to removal, carrying out following recommendations:

- At installation of the pump do not deform a float of the gauge of level of fuel in a tank;

- At installation of a flange pay attention to its position. On it there is an arrow who after installation should be on one line with a stamped arrow in a tank;

- Moisten with gasoline a sealing ring 14 flanges before assemblage;

- Check up durability of landing of submitting and returnable pipelines. Fix their spring collars.
